PRIVACY & TELEMETRYDATA POLICY
Learn how participant registration information, competition telemetry, and leaderboard analytics are collected, protected, and securely handled.
PARTICIPANT PRIVACY & TELEMETRY CHARTER
Transparent, secure, and privacy-first data handling for all CTF participants.
1. Information We Collect
When registering on the platform, we collect participant full names, institutional/personal email addresses, contact phone numbers, college/university affiliations, and team identifiers. During competition play, our infrastructure automatically records technical telemetry, including IP addresses, timestamped flag submission attempts, challenge container lifecycle logs, and user-agent headers.
2. How We Use Your Data
Participant data is processed exclusively for: (a) authenticating team access to the challenge arena at ctf.breachpoint.live, (b) computing dynamic scores and maintaining the real-time public leaderboard, (c) performing anti-collusion and anomaly detection audits, (d) delivering critical competition broadcasts, and (e) issuing digital verifiable certificates and distributing prize payouts.
3. Zero Commercialization & Third-Party Sharing
We strictly uphold participant privacy. Your personal information is NEVER sold, leased, monetized, or shared with third-party advertisers. Sponsor engagement for recruitment or career networking is strictly opt-in and will only occur with your explicit prior consent.
4. Data Security & Storage Standards
All registration data and telemetry transmissions are protected with end-to-end TLS 1.3 encryption and stored in secure, access-restricted databases. Access to raw telemetry and participant records is strictly limited to authorized CTF Head Marshals.
5. Data Retention & Purge Policy
Detailed competition network logs and IP telemetry are retained for 90 days following event conclusion for audit, dispute resolution, and leaderboard verification purposes, after which they are securely purged. Verified certificate records and leaderboard rankings remain archived in the official Breach Point Hall of Fame.
6. Participant Rights & Privacy Inquiries
Participants have the right to request access, correction, or deletion of their personal information following completion of event audit periods. For any privacy inquiries, please contact the organizing team at contact@breachpoint.live or via the official Discord support desk.
